Summary: The location of this rental was amazing! We were within 15-25 minutes from all areas that were wanted to hike, except 1, which was a 40-minute drive, but very much worth it! We saw more deer in the neighborhood than we saw people! It was awesome. There were herds of deer, as many as 15 in one group we counted. Most mornings, fawns with their mothers were sitting in the yard amongst the trees. I wish that our stay could have been longer than 6 days. Hiking was exciting on neighborhood trails and the trails in the area. Connestee Falls, which is located right as you go into the main gate at the top of the hill, was amazing!We had breakfast and snacks at the house, but everything was available if you liked to cook. There was a wide variety of restaurants in town that we took advantage of since my idea of a vacation does not include cooking. :-) We did a Drive Thru at "Smoke On BBQ" on our way home one night that was fantastic! We had the best "street tacos" that I have ever experienced at "Casa Mexicana Taqueria", wonderful Paninis at "Wine Down on Main", and Burgers at "Brevard Diner". We hiked nearly 30 miles in 4 1/2 days. There were so many waterfalls to see, we lost count. The neighborhood itself could have given us another full week of activities if we had had the extended time. Joe and Linda's mountain home was perfectly inviting and made us feel comfortable and "at home" throughout our trip. Even our daughter and Gracie, our grandpuppy loved it!
