Summary: There were no English-speaking staff at the front desk — which is unacceptable for a hotel. The staff were also rude and culturally insensitive. When I checked in, I submitted my Korean ID card. The lady at the counter laughed and said, “Front Chinese letter, back English. Funny.” That was extremely disrespectful. She should be aware that not all Asian languages are Chinese. I corrected her by saying, “It’s Korean,” but she never apologized. The noise level was also terrible. I understand it’s an old building, and I can tolerate some noise, but I was woken up several times during the night and early morning by loud guests. When I called the front desk to report it, the staff couldn’t speak English at all — and instead of handling it professionally, he came to my door and knocked it, waking me up again. Later, a friend left a gift for me at the front desk. When I went to pick it up, the lady there didn’t even try to look for it and just said, “No gifts.” After I explained several times, she finally found it but then asked to take a photo of my face with her phone “for report.” I have never experienced anything like that in any hotel. I refused, of course. Overall, this stay was very unpleasant. The staff’s behavior, communication issues, and constant noise made it one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
