Travel Purpose: business

Positive: We arrived at the accommodation a few hours early, but we did get early check-in, which was appreciated! The accommodation was also very clean when we got there. The food options were also very good, though limited.

Negative: I don't know if this is a Texan thing or a resort thing, but the water throughout the resort area (not just the accommodation) water had a weird taste and smell to it. We were in the area for a conference, and it was a common conversation topic throughout the entire week. It was very noticeable when drinking, brushing teeth, or showering. Also, two small bar soaps (two bathrooms) for 5 or 6 people for a week are inadequate. We tried to request additional soaps but were told that the management only provides "a complementary travel set per reservation" and does not "stock shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap." I am surprised this is not a recurring problem, but I would certainly strongly suggest doing so. I did get suggestions for stores nearby, but I only got soap in the end from a colleague staying in the resort hotel. We did not drive in to the resort, so the stores were not accessible; and we should not or need to fork out even more money for something basic that should have been provided or replenished as part of the almost $5000 we paid for the apartment.
