Positive: It is a beautiful property and we had a superior room which was very spacious. The restaurant offers great food with delicious mole choices and a large selection of wine. The bed was really comfortable as were the Egyptian cotton sheets.

Negative: We extended our stay but unfortunately they didn’t inform us that works on the pool, directly above our room, would start that morning. We were woken up before 7am with loud building works and a chute outside our bathroom window. We spoke to reception who said they would speak to the manager and get back to us. They didn’t but did promise the building work wouldn’t start before 10am the next morning. Unfortunately, we were woken again at 7am. After asking to speak to the manager we finally saw her and she agreed we should have been offered a change in rooms and did agree to refund 1 nights stay. However we would have preferred to have changed rooms! Also be aware, not all the superior rooms are of the same standard. We booked another for one of our party and their room was half the size and nothing like as nice but we were told it was the same price as our much lovelier room!

Summary: Lovely hotel but staff need to be more helpful when disturbing building works are taking place.
